A major Edinburgh city centre road has been locked down by police as they attend to an ongoing incident on January 11.
Emergency services raced to the scene after a man was struck by a bus and rushed to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh with serious injuries.
Police received reports of a road traffic collision at 20.00 and taped off Nicolson Street to carry out further enquiries. The main road in Southside will remain closed for several hours and all buses have been diverted.
Eyewitnesses at the scene report seeing a Lothian Bus with smashed windows left in the middle of the road surrounded by debris.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Police received reports of a pedestrian being struck by a bus on Nicolson Street at 20.00.
"The man was seriously injured and an ambulance attended the scene before taking the pedestrian to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.
"Enquiries remain ongoing."
