MYSURU: Following heavy rain in the catchment areas of all the major rivers of the old Mysuru region, excess water is being released from the reservoirs as a precautionary measure.
The water level at the Krishna Raja Sagara dam located in Srirangapatna taluk of Mandya district reached 123.1ft against its maximum capacity of 124.8ft. The inflow reached 42,633 cusecs, while the outflow is 70,000 cusecs.
Water level in Kabini dam in HD Kote taluk has almost reached its maximum level. While the inflow reached 26,583 cusecs, the outflow is 25,000 cusecs.
From Hemavathi dam in Hassan, 29,000 cusecs of water was released. A large number of tourists visited the dam area during the weekend to witness water gushing out of the crest gates.
At Harangi dam in Kushalnagar of Kodagu, the inflow is 12,500 cusecs while outflow is 20,000 cusecs.
