Major changes planned for Hucknall Co-Op supermarket

Plans have been put forward for significant changes to a supermarket in Hucknall. New illuminated signs could be added to the Co-Op in Watnall Road.

An application to Ashfield District Council seeks advertisement consent to display signs consisting of illuminated text on the main building and an illuminated totem sign within the site area.

A report in the application states that the designs of the proposed signs are considered "appropriate", and will not have a detrimental impact on the character and appearance of the area. Nottinghamshire County Council, the highways authority, has been consulted as part of the application.

But the county council did not wish to make any objection. The plan for the signs is likely to be given the go-ahead by the district council.
