There are going to be changes to school bus services in nine of Greater Manchester’s 10 boroughs, transport chiefs have announced. The new services come into effect from next Monday (April 25).
Transport for Greater Manchester says the changes will affect a total of 22 schools in Bolton, Bury, Oldham, Rochdale, Stockport, Tameside, Trafford and Wigan. More information is available on their website.

Bolton
Ladybridge High School
From Monday 25 April 2022, services 917 and 918 are being withdrawn and replaced by 573 and 574 services. Services 573 and 574 will no longer enter school grounds.
St James Church of England High School
From Monday 25 April 2022, service 939 will be operated by Vision Bus. No changes will be made to the route, timetable or fares.
Sharples School
From Monday 25 April 2022, services 929 will be withdrawn and replaced by 537 services. Both dedicated school bus services operate to and from the school.
Bury
Parrenthorn High School
From Monday 25 April 2022, services 891 and 892 are being withdrawn and replaced by services 90 and 94.
Oldham
Blue Coat School
From Monday 4 April 2022, the dedicated 125, 126, 127, 558, 805, 823 and 893 school bus services operate to and from the school.
Crompton House School
From Monday 25 April, the 408, 435 and 935 services will be replaced with the 402, R9 and R10 services.
North Chadderton School
From Monday 25 April, the 832 service will be withdrawn and replaced by the 402 service.
Royton and Crompton School
From Monday 25 April, the 830 service will be replaced by the 402 bus service.
Rochdale
Hollingworth Academy
From Monday 25 April 2022, service 854 will be withdrawn and partially replaced by service 850. The 850 school bus service has been rerouted and retimed to cater for students travelling on withdrawn service 854.
Newhouse Academy
From Monday 25 April 2022, services 764 (pm only) and 765 (am only) are being withdrawn and replaced by new journeys on service 125.
St Cuthbert's RC High School
From Monday 25 April 2022, service 867 are being replaced by journeys on service R3. Students who currently board service 867 along the southern section of Whitworth Road or parts of Shawclough Road can use service 862.
Wardle Academy
From Monday 25 April 2022, service 857 is being withdrawn and replaced by equivalent journeys on service 458.
Stockport
Harrytown RC High School
From Monday 25 April 2022, the 807 bus will be operated by Stotts Tour and the 819 bus will be operated by Stagecoach Manchester. The £7.60 TfGM Weekly bus ticket will no longer be available on services 807 or 819.
For travel on service 819, Stagecoach offer a weekly ticket which is available for £8.70 (with an igo pass). For travel on all operator's services, the System One weekly ticket (which can be used on services 807 or 819) is available for £10.30.
Marple Hall School
From Monday 25 April 2022, service 808 will be operated by Stagecoach Manchester. The £7.60 TfGM Weekly bus ticket will no longer be available on the 808.
For travel on the 808, Stagecoach offer a weekly ticket which is available for £8.70 (with an igo pass). For travel on all operator's services, the System One weekly ticket is available for £10.30.
Tameside
All Saints Catholic College
From Monday 25 April 2022, the 344 bus service will be withdrawn.
Mossley Hollins High School
From Monday 25 April, the 803 service will be withdrawn as well as the 870 service to Carrbrook. The 343 services will provide alternative travel to and from the school.
Trafford
Altrincham Grammar School for Boys
From 25 April 2022, the £7.60 TfGM weekly ticket will no longer be available to purchase on the 758 service.
The System One weekly ticket, which allows a week’s travel on all operators’ services is available at a cost of £10.30 and can be purchased on the bus with an igo card. The dedicated 750, 751, 752, 753, 755, 756, 757, 758, 759 and 760 school bus services operate from the school.
Altrincham Grammar School for Girls
From 25 April 2022, the £7.60 TfGM weekly ticket will no longer be available to purchase on the 758 service. The System One weekly ticket, which allows a week’s travel on all operators’ services is available at a cost of £10.30 and can be purchased on the bus with an igo card.
The dedicated 750, 751, 752, 753, 756, 757, 758, 759 and 760 school bus services operate from the school.
Loreto Grammar School
From 25 April 2022, the £7.60 TfGM weekly ticket will no longer be available to purchase on the 758 service. The System One weekly ticket, which allows a week’s travel on all operators’ services is available at a cost of £10.30 and can be purchased on the bus with an igo card.
The dedicated 750, 751, 752, 753, 755, 756, 757, 758, 759 and 760 school bus services operate from the school.
Sale Grammar School
From Monday 25 April 2022, services 783 and 784 will be operated by Go Goodwins (Little Gem). As a result, the £7.60 TfGM weekly ticket will no longer be available to purchase on these two services.
The System One weekly ticket, which allows a week’s travel on all operators’ services is available at a cost of £10.30 and can be purchased on the bus with an igo card. The dedicated 780, 781, 782, 783 and 784 school bus services operate from the school.
Wigan
Byrchall High School
From Monday 25 April, 951 service journeys at 7.27am from Oakfield High School and 3.12pm towards Oakfield High School have been withdrawn and replaced by service 559.
St. Edmund Arrowsmith Catholic High School
From Monday 25 April, 951 service journeys at 7.27am from Oakfield High School and 3.12pm towards Oakfield High School have been withdrawn and replaced by service 559.
