A busy Bristol route near Henleaze will partially close for gas works. A section of Westbury Road will close for just under two weeks from tomorrow morning (January 23) at 9.30 am.
Gas company Wales and West Utilities will be carrying out gas upgrades until February 3 meaning there will be no vehicle access from Henleaze Road throughout.
In a post shared to its Twitter account around 5 pm, the company said: “@WWUtilities is closing part of Westbury Road in both directions for gas main replacement works. It will close from 9.30 am Mon 23 Jan to Fri 3 Feb and there will be no access from Henleaze Rd throughout.” The firm said a diversion will be signposted for motorists.

This comes as part of a £120,000 investment work to upgrade part of the gas network in the Westbury Road area. The company said it’s “essential to keep the gas flowing safely and reliably to local homes and businesses, keeping people warm for generations to come”.
Motorists are advised to allow extra travelling time.
