Maisie Smith and Max George insist 13-year age gap ‘never enters their minds’

Maisie Smith and Max George have addressed their 13-year age gap, insisting that it “never enters their minds”.

The EastEnders actor, 21, and The Wanted star, 34, went public with their relationship in August and moved in together just weeks after meeting on the Strictly Come Dancing live arena tour.

In their first joint interview as a couple, the stars addressed their age difference with Smith insisting that they are “so like-minded” that it never comes up.

Speaking to Hello! magazine, the soap star said: “People ask me, “Do you notice it?”, and I never have. We’re so like-minded. I’ve got friends in their 30s and 40s. You connect with who you connect with”.

To which George added: “It never enters my mind. Maisie has already done so many things that I’m in awe of – I look up to her.”

The TV star also described her romance with the boyband heartthrob as “every girl’s dream”.

Recalling one romantic moment, Smith shared: “When I get off a train, Max will be standing on the platform with a bouquet of flowers, and I feel like I’m in a movie. It’s every girl’s dream and I’ve found it in Max.”

While, George declared that becoming Smith’s boyfriend is the “best thing I’ve ever done”.

The pair currently live together but are often travelling the country with Smith touring with Strictly Ballroom: The Musical, where she stars as Fran.

They revealed they plan to get a place together and have a base in London and potentially one in Manchester as well.

Smith added: “With my job I’ve had for the last 20-ish years, I haven’t travelled very much, so it will be lovely to get to travel the world with my bestie.”

The actress came runner-up on the 19th series of Strictly Come Dancing while singer George was eliminated during the fourth week.
