Maine Governor's 4-Word Response to Trump's Threat Over Enforcing Transgender Athlete Ban: 'See You In Court'

President Donald Trump confronted Maine's Democratic Gov. Janet Mills about whether she will comply with his executive order banning transgender athletes from competing in women's sports.

During the National Governors Association at the White House on Friday, Trump turned to Mills and asked, "Are you going to comply?"

"I'm going to comply with state and federal law," Mills retorted, prompting Trump to declare her state will not receive federal funding if she doesn't comply.

"See you in court," Mills retorted.

The president said he looked forward to seeing the governor in court, remarking "that should be a real easy one."

"And enjoy your life after governor because I don't think you'll be in elected politics," Trump added, eliciting a spattering of quiet laughter.

This isn't the first clash the president and Maine's first female governor have had. Last October, Trump threatened to turn Maine into a "Third World country" while, ironically, misgendering Mills in the press.
