The main route through a busy Nottingham village is closed on Sunday, March 20 due to Severn Trent works being carried out in the area. Main Road in Gedling is closed between 8am and 5pm to allow for the project to be delivered.
Buses will be diverted while traffic is unable to access the usually busy road in Gedling village. Nottingham City Transport has shared details of its diversion route for the number 44 service.
A spokesperson for Nottingham City Transport said: "To allow for Severn Trent works, Main Road in Gedling is to be closed on Sunday March 20 between 8am and 5pm. During this time Red 44 will divert via Shearing Hill and Burton Road in both directions. The stops named Church View, Tennyson Avenue, Westdale Lane and Redland Grove cannot be served."
It comes just days before the new £49m road designed to alleviate traffic issues in the village opens to the public. Motorists will be able to drive on the Gedling Access Road from Tuesday, March 22.
