Mahrez and Foden start - Man City predicted line-up vs Borussia Dortmund

Manchester City have already qualified for the Champions League knock-outs but can secure top spot in Group G with a win over Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday.

The Blues are unbeaten in Europe having scored 11 goals and conceded just one - which came via Jude Bellingham in the reverse fixture which ended 2-1 to City. Dortmund know that three points for them would secure a last 16 spot.

City had to settle for a goalless draw against Copenhagen last time out, playing an hour with 10 men after Sergio Gomez was dismissed. They went on to lose to Liverpool five days later to end their unbeaten start to the season.

However, Pep Guardiola’s side bounced back with a 3-1 win over Brighton on Saturday, Erling Haaland ’s double taking his tally for the season to 22. He will be eager to add to his empathic start and is set to start against Dortmund.

Phil Foden was benched against Brighton, coming on for the final half-hour. He is expected to be welcomed back into the line-up with Riyad Mahrez on the opposite right flank to extend his three-game starting streak in the Champions League, despite his missed penalty against Copenhagen.

In midfield, Rodri and Kevin De Bruyne are sure to start, while at the back Aymeric Laporte may be rested after suffering an injury scare against Brighton. Nathan Ake should partner Ruben Dias.

Predicted XI: Ederson; Akanji, Dias, Ake, Cancelo; Rodri, De Bruyne, Bernardo; Foden, Mahrez, Haaland
