Prayagraj: The stampede on the Mauni Amavasya on 29 January in Maha Kumbh has left a deep mark on the hearts of the countrymen. Such an incident in the world's largest religious event has hurt the sentiments of the whole country.

SP Rajya Sabha MP Prof Ramgopal Yadav has also accused the Yogi government of hiding the correct figures of people killed in the stampede. RJD chief Lalu Prasad has also made allegations against the Yogi government of hiding the exact number of victims in the stampede. Lalu Prasad wrote on his Facebook page, 'Many deaths from Bihar alone have occurred in Kumbh stampede. The UP government is hiding the death figures. A large number of devotees have died.... Such officials and rulers who are hiding the numbers of deaths should at least fear God.'
