Prayagraj: The unprecedented traffic congestion is reported on routes leading to Prayagraj stretches up to 300 kilometres, which netizens called the "world's biggest traffic jam," as a large number of devotees arrive at Maha Kumbh, reports Dynamite News correspondents.
The massive congestion is reportedly extended up to Madhya Pradesh. Many are stranded for over 11 hours, with jams extending 250-300 kilometers to Madhya Pradesh cities like Katni and Maihar.
Devotees Asked To Return
Due to long traffic jams, several devotees have been asked to return to their home. The police is announcing in Katni which is in Madhya Pradesh and about 300 kilometres away from Prayagraj, to not go to Prayagraj at this time, as per some media reports.

Innumerable Vehicles Stranded
Thousands of vehicles have transformed roads leading to the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj into parking lots, with lakhs of pilgrims eager to attend the world’s largest religious gathering finding themselves stranded in their cars on Sunday, hundreds of kilometers away from the Mela site.
A day earlier, hundreds of vehicles heading for Prayagraj were stopped in different areas in Madhya Pradesh due to the heavy traffic and to avoid overcrowding.
"It is impossible to move towards Prayagraj today as there is a traffic jam of 200-300 kilometres," according to a news agency.

Videos On Social Media
Several videos on social media show massive queues of thousands of cars and trucks on roads across Katni, Jabalpur, Maihar and Rewa districts in MP.
Eyewitnesses claimed huge traffic jams across a 250-km stretch from Katni to MP-UP borders at Chakghat in Rewa district.
Commuters took to social media over the congestion, with a user saying, “Traffic Jam of 15 KM before Jabalpur ...still 400 KM to prayagraj. Please read traffic situation before coming to Mahakumbh!”.
