Maguire and Ronaldo in but no Antony - Alejandro Garnacho shares his FIFA 23 Manchester United XI

Manchester United youngster Alejandro Garnacho has shared a photo of his Manchester United line-up on FIFA 23, which contains himself.

The 18-year-old appears on the game for the second time, ranking up to an overall rating of 64 from 63 last year. Garnacho has had a brilliant 2022, making his first appearances for the senior side and lifting the FA Youth Cup at a packed Old Trafford in May.

The Argentine is now training with the first team and has been given three cameo outings this season, two in the Europa League and the other against Brighton on the first day of the season.

Garnacho clearly likes to play FIFA during his down time and was quick to get his hands on this year’s edition. Sharing a photo of his line-up on Instagram, he made a number of interesting picks in his United side.

David de Gea unsurprisingly starts in goal with Diogo Dalot and Tyrell Malacia as full-backs. Summer signing Lisandro Martinez starts as does club captain Harry Maguire.

Erik ten Hag has favoured Raphael Varane over the skipper in the last month, but the Frenchman is not seen in Garnacho's selection.

Christian Eriksen and Bruno Fernandes occupy the midfield alongside Garnacho’s fellow academy graduate Zidane Iqbal. The midfielder is yet to play for the first team this season although is also training with the seniors.

Jadon Sancho starts on the right while Garnacho put himself on the left with Cristiano Ronaldo leading the line. The likes of Marcus Rashford, Casemiro and Antony don’t make the cut, although the latter is spotted on the bench alongside Fred, Anthony Elanga and new goalkeeper Martin Dubravka.

Garnacho will hope to be named in the matchday squad that takes on Manchester City in Sunday’s derby after being omitted from it against Arsenal.
