Magpie speed just one part of the puzzle: Port coach

Port Adelaide coach Ken Hinkley says controlling Collingwood's attacking chaos and speed are only parts of the puzzle to solve in their MCG battle.

The Power coach is an open admirer of the attacking bent of Craig McRae's Magpies ahead of their Saturday afternoon clash.

"We might have went one and two in scoring last week in the first round," Hinkley said of Port and the Pies.

"But it's the first round. You have got to be able to do that consistently.

"Collingwood have shown they're able to do that consistently with their chaos game that they play and the speed with which they move.

"We haven't certainly been able to do that consistently but we're going to try and be challenging for them in that phase of the game."

Collingwood banked 125 points in their season-opening win against Geelong while the Power scored 126 in their victory over Brisbane.

"Offence is trying to make a comeback," Hinkley said.

"It's certainly real for a lot of clubs, not just Collingwood ... we hope to be one of those types of teams as well.

"But you have got to do that with composure.

"I have watched enough of Collingwood to know, everyone talks around the urgency they go through the corridor, I see them just as urgent go around the boundary line at times too.

"I don't think there's one way or the other you have to be ready for Collingwood, you have to ready for a four-quarter challenge."

Hinkley has lost tall backman Trent McKenzie to an ankle injury and replaced him with speedy haflback Jase Burgoyne.

"Clearly with the Collingwood set-up ... they're quite a damaging running front-of-centre team, we're very mindful of what their speed is like so we're trying to match-up on that," he said.

Hinkley confirmed ex-skipper Travis Boak would be his side's substitute when making his return from a fractured rib.

"We're clearly bringing Travis back into the team in a controlled manner," he said.

"With the way the sub now is operating, we can get one of our all-time greats back into the team without having to condition him for a bit longer.

"(But) if he's required five minutes in, we're confident he can do that."

The Pies replaced Jeremy Howe (broken arm) with Billy Frampton, who will make his Collingwood debut after transferring from Adelaide.
