Magnolia Pictures and Participant have teamed up to acquire North American rights to the documentary film 'The Grab,' directed by Gabriela Cowperthwaite, known for her work on 'Blackfish.' The film, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival, delves into the investigative work of journalists from The Center for Investigative Reporting as they uncover the manipulation of essential global resources by powerful entities.

The storyline follows the journalists as they navigate through high-profile sources and confidential data to shed light on the control exerted by countries, corporations, and the elite over crucial resources. The film is set to take viewers on a journey from Arizona to Zambia, exploring the repercussions of this power struggle on food and water scarcity.

Magnolia Pictures and Participant are positioning 'The Grab' as a high-stakes global thriller that exposes the unseen threats posed by the exploitation of vital resources. The film is slated for release in theaters and on demand on June 14.
