Magaluf to crack down on travellers just before Easter break

Rowdy travellers making their way to Magaluf will have to keep their behaviour in check as the country plans to crack down on unruly holidaymakers.

Authorities in Calvia - the local government region covering the party hotspot - have said they will be introducing more police patrol units as a series of unwanted confrontations have risen during previous weeks. The crackdown will be just in time for the Easter break.

Several bars have already been put under strict rules regarding their venues and drink offers in an attempt to reduce drunken disorderly drunken behaviour. The local authorities have already taken matters into their hands after venues failed to keep things under control, including removing a sound system for breaking noise laws.

Other breaches included failing to follow rules on face coverings and not respecting social distancing along with several violent incidents involving local youths from neighbouring Palma. Some hotels and residencies will be limiting the amount of alcoholic drinks handed out in an attempt to make sure the bad behaviour doesn't then spill out on to the streets.

Pub-crawls, all you can drink parties and booze cruises have also been cancelled. This rule was implemented before their most recent lockdown but this is the first time party-goers will feel its effects. Swimwear will also be seeing a change as men will no longer be allowed to walk around topless and women will not be allowed to wear a bikini outside of beach areas.
