Magaluf and Ibiza tourists advised to 'stick with mates' in holiday campaign

Young visitors from the UK heading to some of Spain's top party destinations are being given tips to make sure they have a safe holiday as part of a summer campaign. First launched in 2019 before the pandemic, ‘Stick with your Mates’ is being repeated this year in the Balearic Islands - which includes Ibiza, Majorca and Menorca.

It encourages holidaymakers partying in resorts like Magaluf in Majorca and San Antonio in Ibiza, to have a holiday to remember, rather than one to forget. The campaign provides visitors with tips and advice on how to take care of one another and help avoid serious accidents while on holiday.

It will focus on the need to stay together after research showed the majority of accidents and incidents occurred when young travellers were separated from friends.

The project will be rolled out from June 1 to August 31 and feature short videos and digital images targeted at young people through Instagram and Facebook. Partners are encouraged to share the content at ( facebook.com/stickwithyourmates ) and use the hashtag #stickwithyourmates.

This year’s campaign will also warn holidaymakers that authorities will show zero tolerance to excessive or anti-social behaviour. The number of British tourists is expected to reach pre-pandemic levels in the Balearic Islands.

Tour operators like easyJet and Thomas Cook have already issued similar reminders to its clients heading to the party resorts.
