MAFS’ Warrior Groom Ryan Donnelly Goes Rogue In Facebook Video: ‘Justified Brush Strokes’

Self-proclaimed warrior Married At First Sight (MAFS) groom Ryan Donnelly has followed his wife Jacqui Burfoot‘s path and broken his silence via a rogue Facebook post and it really is… something.

Ryan and Jacqui’s relationship has undoubtedly been one of the major talking points of this year’s MAFS. Their constant arguments and baffling behaviours have viewers hooked on the reality TV clusterfuck that is MAFS.

But alongside their on-screen dramatics, Jacqui has gone full nuclear on Instagram by spoiling her and Ryan’s MAFS ending, revealing who she’s possibly dating now and calling out her on-screen hubby

After days upon days of the supposed Miss New Zealand spilling the tea, Ryan has now broken his silence.

In a February 17 post to Facebook, Ryan addressed “all the MAFS faithful [and] all the fans tuning in, not fans of me, just of the series in general” urging them to watch that night’s episode.

“Now is the time you tune in. No more silent, strategic, apologetic, nice guy, all the violations of my values, the disloyalty, the disrespect and the full picture gets painted with justified brush strokes,” he spouted.

“Nobody in person who has come up to me has had anything negative, hostile or judgmental to say they’ve all been like, ‘You know what? This guy is switched on. He is genuine. He does have depth. His energy is on point,’ and that’s exactly who I am.

“Everyone who knows me knows that this is a representation for entertainment.”

To refresh your memory, February 17 hosted the first intruders wedding for MAFS 2025. While it was supposed to be a happy occasion for the incoming couple, Jacqui and Ryan stole the show after it was revealed she messaged Jeff Gobbels (Rhi Disljenkovic‘s husband) behind everyone’s back following a heated argument.

In his rogue Facebook video, Ryan expressed he was “excited to see everyone’s reactions” to the explosive episode and added that it’s up to the viewers to “choose to take the portrayal as gospel” and “God help you if you do”.

“It is an entertainment program at the end of the day, and the reality is that people will say hateful, derogatory, just amazingly hurtful things from the safety of their lounge rooms,” the 2025 groom continued.

“I’ve accepted that doesn’t bother me. The comments don’t mean shit all to me, the negativity.”

Towards the end of his video, the groom said that he loves hearing other people’s perspectives of him on the show, but only “if they’re not hostile”.

“When I say, ‘At the end of the day, the truth and the true colours are revealed,’ I’m not lying,” he added.

While the comments are off to the public on his FB profile, So Dramatic! reposted the video and viewers had a lot to say about Ryan’s rebel moment.

“Must be exhausting having to pretend to be the smartest person in the room all the time,” one viewer wrote.

“Time to hang up your warrior costume champ,” wrote another.

However, Jacqui herself also chucked in her two cents, writing, “This is exactly what I was putting up with 24/7.”

Oy vey, these two are just as messy as each other and even though they’re no longer together (allegedly), they just keep on giving us drama after drama.

I guess we can thank MAFS for that.
