Married At First Sight UK star April Banbury has responded to fans' messages of support after her 'husband' George Roberts was arrested.
The former Miss Great Britain married George on E4 show Married At First Sight and has broken her silence following his arrest. The 40-year-old was arrested last Thursday on suspicion of controlling and coercive behaviour after three of his ex-girlfriends alleged that he was an 'emotional abuser'.
The dad-of-four is facing a police investigation over the allegations of harassment and coercive control. A spokesperson for Met Police said: "A 40-year-old man was arrested by Met officers in Worcestershire on Thursday, September 29, on suspicion of controlling and coercive behaviour.
"He was taken to a Worcestershire police station and subsequently bailed to return pending further enquiries. This follows an allegation of controlling and coercive behaviour and harassment reported to the Met on Monday, September 26."
As the E4 dating show continues, viewers see April and George trying to work through their issues on screen as these allegations have come to light. April soon dumped George and has moved back to her London home as she goes to therapy following the marriage fallout.
Now, the 33-year-old has started replying to fans on social media as they discuss her situation with George. One fan wrote: "And he’s been arrested for coercive control you run for the hills beaut and don’t look back," and April responded with heart emojis.
Another fan commented: "Didn't u freak out on the honeymoon and says that u always need space? Now you are ready to commit and he has been arrested? Tom was right!" as April responded: "not the brightest tool in the shed"
A third said: "How did you not run a mile the minute you saw those crazy narcissistic eyes," before April said: "you can’t see it when you’re in it," and a crying face emoji.
So far, April has remained silent on her 'husband's' arrest but returned to social media on Tuesday night and shared a modelling shot of herself with the caption: "To whoever needs to hear this today… remember, you are stronger than you think."
MAFSUK will return Monday - Thursday at 9pm on E4.
