Well, we’re only two episodes into this season of Married At First Sight and we’ve already got some massive spoilers for one of the couples, Katie Johnstone and Tim Gromie.
After getting hitched on Wednesday’s episode of MAFS, things didn’t look too promising for the newlyweds. While Katie was stoked with her match, Tim was less than thrilled — a fact he made very clear as the episode progressed.
Sadly for the lovers of love in the house, it doesn’t seem like things improve for the unlucky-in-love duo after 37-year-old Katie was papped arriving at her hotel after the very first dinner party alone.
Katie was seen wheeling her luggage into a Sydney hotel with producers by her side. Tim, on the other hand, is nowhere to be seen.

Ever since the episode went to air — and we watched as Katie’s hopes for a “kind” man were slashed — MAFS fans have shared their disappointment about the pairing.
Some fans are even calling for Katie to be matched with another more suitable groom.
Truthfully, the episode was a difficult one to watch. Despite being a CEO, business owner and incredibly impressive woman, Katie was painted as an emotional, desperate woman who was willing to put everything on the line for love. Sadly, as the audience, we were almost set up to expect Katie, a gorgeous woman who lives in a bigger body, to be rejected.
For many women, big and small, it’s hard to ignore the constantly reinforced feeling that being small somehow equals worthiness. After all, it’s a notion seemingly ingrained from childhood and can especially be felt by those who are, or have been, in bigger bodies.
Here, on the big MAFS stage, the producers reinforced (consciously or unconsciously) these notions. And that was hard to stomach.
Hopefully, Katie will be matched with another groom who appreciates her for who she is, curves and all.
