MAFS stars rally round Jenna after Thomas makes 'disgusting' joke about her late dad

Married At First Sight UK stars have rallied around Jenna Robinson after co-star Thomas Hartley came under fire for cruel comments he made in a podcast.

Thomas, 31, made the remarks - including a 'joke' about Jenna's father who died during lockdown - during a recent episode of Cool FM's What's Happenin'.

He broke down in tears as he issued a grovelling public apology on social media saying there was 'no excuse' for his actions.

The Liverpudlian mental health worker added cruel trolls had been taunting him after he had 'made a mistake'.

Although he said sorry on Instagram, Jenna said she been offered no personal apology and described Thomas’ actions as 'another stab in the back'.

Re-sharing her Instagram post on their stories – in which she thanked fans for their support – Jenna’s co-stars branded Thomas’ behaviour ‘disgusting’.

Chanita wrote: “Listening to that podcast made me so angry and I felt heartbroken for those being spoken about!

“So I can’t even imagine what the girls must be going through hearing that vileness. Absolutely disgusting!!”

The 29-year-old social worker added: “All involved should be utterly ashamed and need to check themselves in regards to their morals and compassion.

“You need URGENT lessons on how to be a decent human!!”

Jordan, who was married to Chanita on the Channel 4 show, also waded in to give his opinion on what Thomas had done.

“I am absolutely disgusted at the whole situation,” he told his 88,000 Instagram followers.

“I don’t even have the words. It is inexcusable. End of,” he added.

Dental hygienist Jess, who was married to stripper Pjay on the show, further leapt to Jenna’s defence.

She wrote: “I love you @jennarobo so much support around u! We all love u so much and so sorry this has happened.”

Jenna’s wife Zoe previously took to Instagram to brand Thomas a “disrespectful piece of s***”.

She said: “To slate your own friend and disrespect Jenna is something completely unforgiveable.”

Breaking her silence yesterday, Jenna shared a post to her Instagram story which read: "Thank you to those of you who have reached out to check in on me. It means a lot.”

She continued: "Honestly I'm struggling a little with what I've heard. And although for them it's a laughable joke at my expense, I'm now having to deal with the aftermath of my family potentially hearing what I've heard and I'm trying my best to prevent that from happening."

Jenna's father is understood to have passed away during the Covid-19 pandemic, which meant that he wasn't in attendance at her wedding on the E4 reality series.

She added: "As for the so called public 'apology' it's yet another stab in the back. Not an ounce of remorse or respect and just to add I've had no personal apology either."

After being publicly criticised by his co-stars regarding his comments, Thomas has since issued a grovelling apology and says he has asked for the offensive podcast to be taken down.

He said: “I sincerely apologise for any offence I caused on the podcast. It wasn’t right and I did ask for it to be removed and it wasn’t.

“I take full responsibility and honestly completely regret the situation and what I said. I am honestly so sorry for any pain caused to anyone... There’s no excuse. I was out of order massively. I will live eternally with regret.”

In later posts on Instagram he apologised again as he revealed he was having some “very dark thoughts”.
