MAFS star no longer talking to 'fake' husband and accuses producers of 'setting her up'

A Married At First Sight UK star has revealed she’s no longer on talking terms with her on-screen husband as she accuses him of being "fake" in a savage rant.

Jess Potter has told how she felt she was "unfairly portrayed" on the Channel 4 show - after things went sour following her “marriage” to 31-year-old performer Pjay Finch.

The 31-year-old dental hygienist broke down in tears on their wedding day when she discovered Pjay, also 31, works as a Dreamboys stripper.

“He’s a stripper and he lives at home with his mum,” a heartbroken Jess was heard telling her own mum.

She even threatened to boycott their honeymoon to the Maldives as she was so unhappy with the husband the show had chosen for her.

Jess - who was sent death threats over her wedding day stripper meltdown – spilt amicably from Pjay early on in the experiment and had remained “good friends” with him but this is no longer the case.

Jess, from Cambridge, revealed how their friendship was good throughout their time on the show, but things took a turn when Pjay began liking comments online about how Jess came across on the show.

“[It] just seemed really fake,” she said. “I told him, he saw all the sh*t and death threats I was getting and all he could say was ‘Whitney got the same’ - so I blocked him.

"I don't regret going on the show though, because I was true to myself all the way through. I did not enjoy my experience at all, but I wouldn't actually change a thing."

Jess also told how she was not happy with how her reaction to discovering Pjay’s secret career was shown on the show.

"I would not have a relationship with a stripper - not because of his job but because of bad experiences. I had such a bad time mentally," she explained.

"The edits were so unfair.

"Producers told me to storm off and, although I only had a couple of minutes talking to my mum, they made it look like a couple of hours.

"In reality, we actually had a really good day. We danced for ages to Chaka Khan."

Since the show ended, Jess has moved on and met the man she’s ready to spend the rest of her life with.

She revealed she has her engagement ring picked out as things get serious with 28-year-old gas engineer TJ O’Reilly.

“Real marriage is on the cards, and I want kids with him, because when you know, you know," Jess said.

“And the best part is, I’m the only one who gets to see him naked.”

A Channel 4 spokesperson said: “Married at First Sight UK episodes are carefully put together and we ensure that what we broadcast is a fair and accurate reflection of the events that took place.”

Mirror Online has approached Pjay for comment.
