Fans of MAFS will know that drama follows participants well beyond their time on the show, which is unfortunately the case for season five alum Ryan Gallagher and his fiancée, Emily Seebohm.
ICYMI, Gallagher was engaged to the Australian Olympic swimmer, but if the rumour mill is to be believed, the pair have tragically called it quits ahead of the nuptials.
That’s according to a source who spoke to Sky News Australia, claiming that — after unfollowing each other on Instagram earlier this month — the couple have officially called off their three-year engagement.
“Ryan and Emily are trying to find a new normal, which has been a real process,” the source said.
They added that the pair’s “number one priority” is Sampson Seebohm, the baby boy they welcomed back in September of 2023.
The source said Gallagher and Seebohm, a seven-time Olympic medallist, are “ensuring [Sampson] continues to feel supported by both parents”.
News of the split follows earlier speculation around the state of the pair’s relationship, after Seebohm was spotted out and about with a notably absent engagement ring in mid-April.
It’s said that Gallagher has relocated to Brisbane to be close to the Seebohm family, but is currently living on his own.
It comes three years after Gallagher first popped the question back in 2022, after months of speculation around their budding romance.
The pair met during their shared stint on The Challenge Australia, proving that — despite the MAFS omen otherwise — love truly can be found on reality TV.
As for the intense interest that will no-doubt follow reports of their split, the couple apparently consider it “[a] private matter”, according to the source.
“They haven’t felt the need to make public statements,” they said. “This is a private matter, and they’re treating it as such.”
PEDESTRIAN.TV reached out to both Gallagher and Seebohm for comment.
Before their own romance, Seebohm famously dated fellow Aussie swimmer Mitch Larkin, while Gallagher had a brief relationship with Geordie Shore’s Charlotte Crosby, who (shock horror) he also met on reality TV as a castmate of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!
