On the latest episode of Men Behaving Badly — sorry, Married At First Sight (MAFS) — the men behaved… well, badly.
Much of their said bad behaviour was brought up at Wednesday night’s dinner party episode, which marked the halfway point of the experiment and was explosive to the point of full-on detonation. I guess us MAFS fans are just used to that by now.
The buzziest moments from the episode came courtesy of Carina Mirabile and Paul Antoine, who for a long stretch were perhaps the strongest and most loved-up couple on this season. Granted, they have pretty weak competition… but I digress.
We get the low-down on the drama between the pair ahead of the dinner party. Apparently, in an Uber ride home after a day out with Rhi Disljenkovic and Jeff Gobbels off-camera, Carina informed Paul that she had previously slept with a rapper whose song was playing on the radio.
Predictably, this sent fans’ minds racing on social media as to the identity of Rhi’s former flame.
We need to know who the rapper is!!!!!

While that inquisitive fan response feels normal, a far less normal reaction to news of Rhi’s admission would be to go ahead and punch a wall… which is unfortunately exactly what Paul did.
Seriously, what in the name of John Aiken is going on with men on this show? The pair debrief about the situation the following morning.
Paul , your wife should not have to apologise for having sex with whoever before YOU!

OH OH OH, please don't tell me i just heard you blame her for your out of control aggression.
That's utter bullshit buddy!
You need to take 💯 ownership.#MAFS #MAFSAustralia #MAFSAU pic.twitter.com/gc8v7YJJJp
Say it with me- A WOMAN DOES NOT NEED TO APOLOGISE FOR HER SEXUAL HISTORY #MAFS #MAFSAU #MAFSAustralia

Paul expresses shame and remorse for his outburst (I feel like I’ve heard this before?) and starts to cry — and his half-baked apology is apparently distracting enough that we never learn the identity of the rapper.
If anyone has that Uber driver’s number on speed dial, let him know he has a 60 Minutes interview special in the bag if he comes forward with the tea.
Uber-gate rears its head again at the dinner party, when Paul directly addresses it with the rest of the group. He admits that punching a wall is “absolutely unacceptable,” but the apology somehow turns back around on Carina.
Paul: I didn't punch a wall for nothing

Dude… you punched a wall because you have a lack of impulse control… take some accountability for *your* actions, don't blame others #mafsau #MAFSAustralia pic.twitter.com/ScfNPeTqQw
Paul says he felt “embarrassed” about his wife’s former flame and “trapped” by her attempts to calm him down. I think Paul and Adrian Araouzou have been reading from the same playbook, and it’s titled How To Avoid Accountability For Dummies.
Thankfully, Paul’s feet are held to the fire elsewhere. In confessionals, he’s taken to task for his behaviour by Dave Hand, Ryan Donnelly, and Jeff, and all three of the experts rightfully reiterate the seriousness of the situation.
I really, REALLY hope that tonight and/or on Sunday we see one of the men step up and become active bystanders of the Adrian & Awhina situation#MAFS #MAFSAU #MAFSAustralia

For her part, Carina says that while she doesn’t condone Paul’s outburst, she is open to Adrian’s apology, even though the flag is as red as the very same dress she wears to dinner.
Embarrassed and betrayed?! Sorry, what? By a previous relationship/fling… #MAFSAustralia pic.twitter.com/1HQcoBbCmj

Paul says he’s disappointed in himself but earlier tried to blame it one Carina. Is anyone actually buying this? #MAFSAU #MAFSAustralia

If Paul and Carina were the most talked-about dinner party guests, then Jacqui Burfoot was the most groaned-about.
She gets into it with Rhi over her comments at the last commitment ceremony, saying she felt “humiliated” and “ridiculed” by her decision to bring up text-gate (there’s a lot of gates this episode).
Amid the tiff, voices are raised, interruptions are aplenty and a wine glass is at dangerous risk of being thrown (where’s Martha Kalifatidis when you need her?).
Ohhh, it’s time for a Jacqui tantrum, she is aware that she humiliates herself in front of Australia? #MAFS #mafsau #MAFSAustralia pic.twitter.com/oZy9OADjjL

Thankfully, Rhi and Jacqui manage to reach an agreement, and the dust settles on yet another clusterfuck of a MAFS dinner party.
Oh, and in case you were wondering, Adrian is still being Adrian, even as controversy continues to swirl him both on and off the show.
