If you ask me, there’s only one thing better than an extra spicy season of Married At First Sight (MAFS) and that’s when the contestants fob off their contracts and go absolutely rogue on social media. Like clockwork, a handful of this season’s brides and grooms have spoken out about their experience on the show.
However, no one has been as candid as 2025 bride Jacqui Burfoot who took to her Instagram Stories with a very fascinating and enlightening Q&A about her time on MAFS.
Despite reportedly breaking her contract by taking to social media with behind-the-scenes information about MAFS, Jacqui did not hold back. So, here are the eight biggest bombshells she dropped during her Q&A on Instagram Stories this week.

1. Why did Rhi start the text drama?
One of the juiciest storylines of the week involves claims that after a fight with her partner Ryan, Jacqui texted Jeff and asked to meet up with him without Rhi being present. According to Jacqui — who has receipts of the text exchange — bringing up the drama was a bid for screentime.
“As you know, people go on these shows to become influencers and to become influencers you need to get the limelight and camera or what they call air time,” Jacqui said in a video on her Instagram Stories.
“So I suspect that there were some cast members who were motivated by wanting to be the instigators in the group and to call out drama, and to start drama and be really reactive to drama. They also probably got pushed by producers into doing it.”
Jacqui also claimed that she only reached out to Jeff after she’d tried to speak to Rhi.
“First I got Rhi’s number and reached out but she ignored and snubbed me,” she claimed.
“I feel hurt and snaked by her for sure.”
2. Is her crying real?
Although Jacqui’s crying seems pretty damn comical at times, she promises it’s legit.
“If I had a dollar for every time someone thought my crying was fake, I’d be a millionaire right now,” she said.
“I am a cry baby, I cry all the time. I just cry a lot, that’s it.”
3. Why did she wear a blue dress for her wedding?
Unlike most brides on the show — or traditional brides in general — Jacqui opted to wear a silk blue dress down the aisle. According to Jacqui, she wasn’t just trying to serve an original look.
“I tried on white wedding dresses first and I started crying because I felt really sad,” she said.
“I didn’t want it to feel like my actual wedding, I knew it was a TV wedding so I was like how can I make this more fun? I was like let’s wear a different coloured dress so it didnt feel so real.”
4. What are her thoughts on Adrian?
As it stands, MAFS groom Adrian Araouzou is the villain of the hour. However, Jacqui has implied that we’ve only seen a bit of his story. When asked what her thoughts on the controversial groom were, she responded with “very soulful.. more to come out!”
I can’t wait to see what she is referring to.
5. Is she on the autism spectrum?
One of the biggest hypotheses TikTokers have about Jacqui and her behaviour on MAFS is that she might be on the autism spectrum. However, according to Jacqui, she’s never been diagnosed with autism.
“Personally I don’t think I’m autistic, I’ve never been diagnosed. Maybe I’m autistic maybe I’m just undiagnosed, I don’t know.”
6. If she had another chance, would she go on MAFS again?
Although it seems like Jacqui has had a pretty rough edit on MAFS, she says she’d do it all again if offered the chance.
“Yes, absolutely. I’m happier today and in fact I’d do the experience all over again if it meant to getting to where I am today,” she said.
“My life is better than before I started the show and honestly, I have no regrets about doing it.
“Obviously I wish things had gone differently and I’m still hoping things will get better for me but I would do it all again and I guess the happiness now compensates for the sadness I’ve had to go through.”
Well, that’s good, isn’t it?
Perhaps it is to do with the rumours that she’s now re-coupled with intruder groom Clint Rice, who was paired with Lauren Hall. Only time will tell!
