It’s the second last Married At First Sight (MAFS) Dinner Party of the season and finally — fucking FINALLY — Ryan Donelly has made it clear that he and his ‘wife’ Jacqui Burfoot are donezo. WE ARE FREE (for now)!
This article contains Married At First Sight (MAFS) spoilers. It’s up to you if you wanna stay or leave.
After a tumultuous Homestays week — and season — it appears that Ryan and Jacqui’s marriage is done. BURRITO.

Now before I get dragged for giving Ryan some praise in this article, I do want to preface that in my personal, humble, opinion, I am not a fan of either. I believe that Jacqui and Ryan were mismatched resulting in a toxic relationship on MAFS.
If anything, I am praising the man for his actions at tonight’s dinner party.
This tweet sums it all up:
ryan is wrong about a lot of things but he is completely right for saying that jacqui doesn’t like him for who he is…… i hate to admit this….

Now, on to the said actions. Ryan has finally put a pin on his devastating relationship with Jacqui off the heels of their terrible Homestays Week experience.
You see, as soon as Ryan and Jacqui stepped out of the Skye Suites, the bride was already coming for Ryan for his beard and then his intellect.
When it was time for Jacqui to enter Sydney’s south-west suburbs, Jacqui dragged the shit out of his home, which was then followed by a blow-out argument during a walk with Ryan’s dog Freya and then another argument with Ryan’s friends, who were defending the groom from Jacqui’s constant, harsh critiques.

As a result of their disastrous week, the pair returned to Skye Suites separately and with both parties arriving solo.
Prior to their arrival, Jacqui and Ryan reflected upon the clusterfuck of Homestays Week, with Jacqui revealing that she wanted an apology and Ryan admitting that the experience has “highlighted how incompatible” they are.
“I can’t do the yo yo anymore,” Ryan shared, referencing the ups and down of his relationship.
Side note: surprisingly, this is the first time Jacqui and Ryan have arrived at the Dinner Part alone.

Out of the pair, Jacqui was the first to arrive solo and dished all the tea to the other cast mates. However, the topic of Jacqui’s honesty letter came up and her fellow co-stars mentioned how all the negative stuff she wrote about Ryan would’ve been “hard” for anyone.
To give you a quick recap on that, just like the letter she wrote at the beginning of the season, Jacqui basically listed all of Ryan’s negatives and highlighted her concern with his financial stability, which seems to be a very important thing to her when it comes to relationships.

Finally, Ryan arrived and he came in, strutting his stuff with a positive mindset. After greeting all of his co-stars, he finally greeted Jacqui.
In a voxie, Jacqui said she expected Ryan to be “walking through the door with his tail between his legs and come over and apologise”.
When they finally had a moment alone at the Cocktail Party bar, Jacqui came in guns blazing with her burning question: “Do you have anything you want to say to me?”
“That was a demand, that wasn’t really a question,” Ryan shared in a voxie, fuming over Jacqui’s audacity.

But before their mini rendezvous could blow up into World War Three, the Dinner Party guy saves the day, hauling all the castmates into the Dinner Party.
JOKES… Shit obviously blew up AT the Dinner Party, with Jacqui and Ryan going recapping their terrible week at Homestays. But the things reached boiling point when Ryan brought up the letter she wrote during Homestays, where she spoke about her concerns with Ryan’s financial future and work ethic.
However, Jacqui denied penning any sort of letter, forgetting that she actually read the letter out to Jeff Gobbels during the partner swap.
Immedately, Jeff called her out on her bullshit, to which she snapped back, “I didn’t write that, Jeff.”

After the whole table began to come for Jacqui and the way she spoke about Ryan, the controversial bride snapped.
“I never, ever, ever, EVER, said this man wasn’t good enough for me,” Jacqui yelled.

In a voxxie, Jacqui claimed that Ryan was a “good storyteller” and that he “distracted” everyone in the room, which led to her being scolded by what’s left of the 2025 cast.
“He distracts everyone from the big elephant in the room which is I was yelled at, I was scolded, I was ganged up and I was verbally abused by his friends while he was sitting there and he did nothing,” Jacqui shared in a voxie.
During the altercation, Jacqui began to laugh because she was being scolded by her co-stars which confused TF out of everyone.

After having a giggle, Ryan shared to the group that he’s “had a gutful” and that he’s “sick” of their relationship.
Towards the end of the episode, Jacqui and Ryan finally have a private chat — first one in forever, I think? — where things seemingly come to and end for the pair.
Before the chat, Jacqui is emotional because she noticed that her ‘husband’ “has thrown in the towel” and given up on their MAFS marriage.
“I feel like I’m loosing Ryan… So it makes me really sad that this has potentially caused the end of our relationship is this silly fight with his friends,” Jacqui cried in voxie.
Keep in mind, it appears that Ryan has voiced multiple examples of what concerns him with the relationship alongside her scrap with his mates.

When they finally go in private, Jacqui asked if Ryan was sorry for his friends’ actions and not standing up for her, to which he swiftly replied, “no”.
Ryan then explained that his mates are more important than Jacqui, to which she immediately began to cry.
“Ryan, I found that really traumatic. That was a really bad experience for me and I’m still not over it. I came to tonight just wanting to ask for an apology from you and to get you say you’ll make it up for me for not standing up for me,” she cried.
Jacqui then went on a spiel about how she’s giving Ryan the opportunity to fix their relationship by asking him to apologise. However, he quickly shuts her down, saying that he doesn’t appreciate the way she speaks at him about being a better person.
The conversation then turns to Jacqui’s high standards, which then leads to her asking Ryan, “Why don’t you want to be someone great?”

In response to Jacqui’s hurtful question, Ryan communicated how he’s unhappy with his relationship and how that statement was insulting towards him.
“‘Why I don’t want to be someone great?’ You see how that’s insulting, don’t you?” Ryan began.
“Why don;t you wanna be someone who’s on a level where their approachable, because you’re not. You are judgemental, you are hypercritical or your hypersensitive. I’m not happy being here with you.”
Ryan went on to tell Jacqui that she couldn’t give him what he needs, such as “acceptance”, to which she quickly says she does accept him. However, her constant lists have say otherwise.
“Jacqui I need to say something you, right? It’s OK, you don’t like me for who I am and that’s fine. I love myself, I am confident in myself. I have an amazing lif, right? And your influence on it at the moment is destructive because you’re trying to change it. That’s not what a relationship is,” Ryan shared.
WHAT A MIC DROP MOMENT.

Towards the end of their heart-to-heat, Ryan confirms that he can’t salvage their relationship and that it’s — in the words of Mariah Carey — that’s A WRAP.
But one of the saddest revelations of the chat was that Jacqui reckons “no one” meets her high standards.
Oh me, oh my. That was a doozy. Here’s what folks had to say about that rollercoaster.

Honestly, I am predicting that Jacqui and Ryan do not make it to Final Vows.
Despite all their quirks, I will miss them for the entertainment factor.
Married At First Sight returns Sunday on Channel Nine and 9Now.
