We’re nearing the end of Married At First Sight (MAFS) 2025, and fans have been left with a massive headfuck over Jacqui Burfoot and Ryan Donnelly‘s relationship because how… HOW???

Jacqui and Ryan have left the nation in confusion for the billionth time after they’ve seemingly patched things up ahead of the season’s Final Dinner Party. It’s honestly a Christmas miracle, or maybe Easter, since that’s closer.

To give you a quickie recap, the pair have gone THROUGH IT this season. From the start, Jacqui wasn’t really feeling Ryan’s vibe as he wasn’t the blonde, blue-eyed hunk of spunk she hoped for. He also dropped her during their first dance. Awkies.
Throughout the experiment, the New Zealand born bride would constantly make lists and call out things she didn’t like about her ‘husband’. During the photo ranking task, Ryan didn’t place Jacqui in first place which left a sour taste in her mouth.
When it was Intimacy Week, the couple were rocked with a scandal after Ryan said Jacqui had “crazy eyes” — a comment that was previously made by Jake Luik — and commented on her head game to the other grooms.
From then, the pair had many ups and downs, mostly with Jacqui not being impressed with her assigned groom. However, things reached boiling point during Homestays Week, when the pair would constantly clash over Ryan’s lifestyle.
Viewers then thought it was the end of the Jacqui and Ryan show when the groom finally told his ‘wife’ he “wasn’t happy” in his marriage, which led him to writing ‘leave’ at the final Commitment Ceremony. However, the bride wrote ‘stay’.
But in a weird twist, after Jacqui and Ryan both participated in the Final Test Date, the couple have… made up? And all it took was a positive letter from Jacqui?
For context, after Jacqui’s date with her backup groom, Rory, the pair allegedly exchanged numbers. After Ryan went on a date with Vivienne, the warrior groom felt guilty and invited Jacqui to his apartment. When Jacqui and Ryan had their meeting, the bride came through with another letter. This time, it was all the things she loved about him and now, it appears, that the letter is what brought them together.
Before the pair could give us one more Dinner Party show, Jacqui shook fans by telling Ryan in the apartments that she believes that their marriage “is the most successful marriage out of all of them”.

At the Final Dinner Party, Ryan and Jacqui strutted in with the groom, exclaiming that they were the “King and Queen of confusion”.
HECK, even the experts were caught off guard by this development.
Further in the Dinner Party, Jacqui confessed that she now sees Ryan as a “potential life partner” following her date with her ‘Plan B’ groom, which continued to confuse her fellow co-stars.
However, Ryan still doesn’t know that Jacqui and her backup groom (allegedly) exchanged numbers after the Final Twist date.
