After less than 24 hours in the experiment, Married At First Sight (MAFS) groom Eliot Donovan yeeted himself from the experiment after his bride, Lauren Hall, didn’t live up to his standards. However, according to insider sources, it might not be the last we’ve seen of the 35-year-old bachelor.
According to the dedicated MAFS Instagram mafsgossip, Eliot was spotted returning to the experiment as an intruder alongside former Miss Universe Australia finalist and actress Veronica Cloherty.
Currently, Victoria’s Instagram is private. It’s a strange move for a model and actor… unless it was to prepare her account for the MAFS spotlight.
Although Eliot has already made his long and stringent list of requirements for a partner clear, 32-year-old Victoria does tick one box — she’s younger than him.
Following his departure from the show, Eliot explained why he decided to leave the experiment and he claims it wasn’t about Lauren’s age like it seemed on the show.
“I left because I didn’t find love. I was there to find love, and I didn’t see a future with Lauren,” he told the Daily Mail.
“Of all the reasons to leave, I think that’s a pretty fair one. It wasn’t because of anything physically wrong with her or anything like that. It was more just like a long-term thing, and I didn’t want to go through the motions and fight with this person for three months just to milk the opportunity.”
Eliot explained that there were some compromises he wasn’t prepared to make.
“Not for things like when it comes to like having a family and stuff, I didn’t wanna change… what I wanted. Do you know what I mean?” he said.
“If it was something like, oh, we argue a lot, and that’s a problem, a hundred per cent I’d be open to hearing their wisdom about ‘oh, look, this is a way that you can communicate better’.
“It was more just like the fact that we had different goals in mind. So it’s either one of us is going to have to change what we wanted dramatically.”
So, I guess time will tell to see whether he returns to the Married At First Sight experiment as an intruder and whether Victoria will run into the same issues Lauren did.
