Although Married At First Sight (MAFS) 2025 has yet to graze our screens, eagled-eyed punters have already called out an editing fail amongst some of the promo for the show. Woopsie!
On Monday, MAFS fans were finally able to feast their eyes on this year’s cast. From a former Bachelor contestant to a dance studio owner, the cast of upcoming brides and grooms is shaping up to be an exciting bunch.
However, it was a photo of two grooms that caught the eyes of viewers.
Fans noticed that incoming grooms Jake, 30, and Tim, 39, were the only two cast members to not have a professional shot for the official cast list.
“How come he didn’t have a professional photoshoot?” one person questioned online.
“They did Jake so dirty in this picture. Photoshop on Microsoft Windows Paint version 2003,” another person commented.
“I wonder if there’s a particular reason why Tim and Jake don’t have professional photos LOL,” a third wrote, referencing another groom from 2024 who also had a “dodgy” photo for MAFS, but it just turned out he walked out of the show last minute.
Well, according to an insider speaking to Daily Mail Australia, it appears that both Jake and Tim had their reasons as to why they couldn’t show up for the MAFS photoshoot.
What happened to Jake on Married At First Sight?
While you’d think Jake might’ve walked out of the show — after all there are rumours of a mass exodus for MAFS 2025 — an insider revealed that the incoming groom suffered an ear infection and couldn’t make it to the shoot.
“Jake called in sick with an ear infection and couldn’t attend on doctor’s orders,” the source told the publication.
“It’s a shame because his storyline was shaping up to be a fan favourite.”
What happened to Tim on Married At First Sight?
Tim’s reason behind why he skipped the shoot could be a major hint at how his time on MAFS panned out.
According to the MAFS insider, the 2025 groom skipped on the promo pics because he reportedly wanted “nothing to do with the show” after filming ended.
“Tim felt like the experts had really let him down, and he wasn’t shy about making his frustrations known. It got to the point where he didn’t want to be associated with the show at all,” the insider spilled.
Honestly, if I had a shit go on the show, I would ghost everyone too!!!
In 2024, Simon Flocco went viral amongst MAFS fans for his “dodgy” promo shoot. It was soon revealed that the groom did a runner right after his Bucks party.
While it’s quite apparent that Tim and Jake’s pics weren’t taken in the same setting as their peers, I still reckon they look quite snazzy.
Heck, I think I might’ve fallen in love with Jake at first sight… JOKES. Anywayssss…
