Mads Hermansen Injury Update: Dane Will Require A Scan

The latest Mads Hermansen injury update has indicated that the Leicester goalkeeper will require a scan to reveal the extent of his groin problem suffered against Newcastle.

On Saturday, the Foxes were comprehensively beaten 4-0 at St James’ Park. Jacob Murphy scored twice with Alexander Isak and Bruno Guimaraes also netting.

That defeat was the first under the reign of new boss Ruud van Nistelrooy. Furthermore, it was the heaviest loss the East Midlanders have suffered since returning to the Premier League.

Ahead of next weekend’s crunch encounter against Wolves, Van Nistelrooy’s side will be sweating on the fitness of their star shot-stopper.

Mads Hermansen Injury Update Reveals Scan Required

According to the Physio Scout via X (formerly Twitter), only a scan will reveal the true extent of the Mads Hermansen’s groin injury.

The Dane was unable to return for the second-half on Tyneside after starring in the first 45 minutes. Danny Ward was given a rare outing and let in three goals.

Now, the Physio Scout believes it could just be tightness. Subsequently, this is the best outcome Leicester City could hope for.

However, there is the possibility that a scan will indicate a grain strain. That means Hermansen could be ruled out for between one and six weeks. Depending on the severity of the injury.

Scans will be necessary to check if there’s any structural damage, but it does sound like only tightness or a minor groin strain. Potential recovery times: If tightness: Less than a week Grade 1: 1-2 weeks Grade 2: 3-6 weeks,” the Physio Scout said.

After the defeat, Ruud van Nistelrooy also shared an update: “When Mads comes off, then it’s an injury. He felt a pain in the groin, so he couldn’t continue. We have to assess what it’s like.”

Only time will tell the true extent of Hermansen’s injury. Losing him for the Wolves game would come as a huge blow to the Foxes.

The best football betting sites in the UK make Van Nistelrooy’s side the slight match favourites at 31/20. The Old Gold can be backed at 7/4 with the draw 13/5.
