Madonna's terrifying health battle explained from hospitalisation to 'serious infection'

Madonna has left fans across the world worried for her health after it was revealed she was hospitalised over the weekend.

Sources have shared that she was found unconscious and had suffered from a "serious bacterial infection".

As a result, her highly anticipated Celebration tour, which was due to start on July 15th, has been postponed, with fans worried that it will be cancelled all together, but urging the singer to take time to rest.

As we await more updates about Madonna's recovery, here's everything we know so far about her health battle.

Madonna rushed to intensive care

Her tour is now believed to be postponed. The news - which comes just two weeks before the singer, 64, was due to embark on her Celebration tour - was shared by her manager Guy Oseary on Instagram.

Sharing the news, he wrote in a statement yesterday evening: "On Saturday, June 24, Madonna developed a serious bacterial infection which lead to a several-day stay in the ICU.

"Her health is improving, however she is still under medical care. A full recovery is expected. At this time we will need to pause all commitments, which includes the tour."

Madonna's daughter Lourdes at her bedside

Not only was Madonna admitted to ICU, but she was placed on a ventilator and was "intubated", according to various reports.

Madonna's daughter Lourdes Leon remained by the Material Girl singer's side throughout the ordeal while her mother was "intubated" for at least one night before having the tube removed.

Madonna's family are said to be struggling after the "frightening and scary experience" of finding her unconscious and unresponsive.

The pop legend, 64, was rushed to hospital after falling seriously ill with a bacterial infection and spending several days in intensive care, with her loved ones staying by her bedside over the fear of losing her.

Ominous final Instagram post

Her latest social media post offered some clues after she uploaded a series of somber snaps.

She captioned the photos: "The Calm Before The Storm………." after they were taken following some gruelling 12-hour days "strenuously" preparation.

Looking tired and in need of a rest, the icon was latest rushed to the unit after falling unwell.

Fans urged her to cancel tour

Madonna's latest social media hinted at fans that something clearly wasn't quite right and in turn, many urged her to cancel her tour.

One told her on Instagram : "Please don’t do the tour your health is the priority not the tour Madonna take good care of yourself..you are within the lgbttq+ and the rest of New York a national treasure..sending you positive energy..you’ve got this my Queen".

Another put: "@Madonna if you read this, know that we don't care if you never ever release a new single or if you never put your feet on a stage again, we want you to be healthy more than anything. We love you like a close family member.

"You gave us so much already. I will pray the most i can for your fast and total recovery. Get well soon, we love you with all our hearts."

Signs of exhaustion

Body language expert, Judi James, has exclusively told us that Madonna appeared to be suffering from "tiredness or exhaustion" in the photos taken before her hospitalisation.

"Madonna’s surface look is always going to be timeless and impeccable but there are some subtle body language clues in these photos that could hint at something like tiredness or exhaustion," Judi said.

"Her hands in the photo where she sits in front of a piano probably create the most telling image. She looks more vulnerable here.

"Having said that though her schedule must have been gruelling if she was rehearsing shows and she still looks wildly busy and energetic for a woman half her age."

Her worried family kept her failing health a secret from fans for five days.

Now one relative has said the illness was kept a secret because they were unsure if she was going to pull through.

"For the past couple of days, no one really knew which direction this was going to turn, and her family was preparing for the worst," the relative said to the Daily Mail.

"That is why it was kept a secret since Saturday... Everyone believed that we may lose her and that has been the reality of the situation."

Family BANNED from talking tour at her bedside

Madonna's friends and family have been banned from discussing work at her bedside, according to a family source.

They have been strictly warned against discussing the Celebration tour or anything work related so Madonna can rest.

"Everything, including this tour, is taking a backseat right now and no one is allowed to even mention anything work related around her because she will lose her s***," the relative revealed.

"She will put her career and her fame before her health until the day she is dead."

"She's feeling good #madonna #love," she wrote underneath a snap of the pair performing a cobra yoga pose on her former TV show.
