Madonna is said to have some very strict rules in place for how her team should manage her legacy when she dies.
At the end of June, the news emerged that the 64-year-old icon had suffered a near-death hospital dash after developing a nasty bacterial infection that saw her checked into an intensive care unit. The Queen of Pop was even "intubated" and thought to have been placed on a ventilator.
While Madonna went through the scary ordeal, her daughter Lourdes Leon remained by the Material Girl singer's side throughout - even when her mum was "intubated" for at least one night before having the tube removed, according to reports. And now it had emerged that should something happen to Madonna that meant she would no longer walk this earth, there are some very strict and stringent rules and instructions on how to keep her career and legacy alive after death.
According to The Sun, Madonna is against any "cheap gimmicks" like holograms that might "tarnish her legacy". A source went on to tell the paper that aside from Abba Voyage, "the use of holograms to bring performers to life has been questionable, to say the least".
They spoke of Whitney Houston’s hologram tour and how it was "panned by critics" which has led to Madonna refusing to let "money-hungry bosses" promote a similar gimmick. The source added: "She has spent her whole life calling the shots and maintaining cultural relevance — and there is no chance she’s letting all her hard work be tarnished."
Not only this, but Madonna wants to share the rights to all of her tracks equally between her six children. Madonna has six children in total: Lourdes who is her eldest, 26; Rocco, 22; David, 17; Mercy, 17; and 10-year-old twins Stella and Estere. The Like A Prayer Singer also "plans to give some" to her manager Guy Oseary, according to the paper.
Guy is the person who announced Madonna's health scare and subsequent tour postponement. Last month he took to Instagram to share the worrying news, which left fans in a state of shock. The statement, posted on June 28, read: "On Saturday June 24, Madonna developed a serious bacterial infection which lead to a several day stay in the ICU."
Guy continued: "Her health is improving, however she is still under medical care. A full recovery is expected. At this time we will need to pause all commitments, which includes the tour. We will share more details with you soon as we have them, including a new start date for the tour and for rescheduled shows."
