Moaning Madeleine McCann suspect Christian Brueckner sent a 14-page letter to authorities complaining he is being “tortured” behind bars.
The convicted German paedophile, 45, whinged about death threats he has allegedly received from other inmates.
He also complained about being confined to his cell for 23 hours a day and demanded a supply of creamer for his coffee.
Brueckner, who is being held at the Oldenburg correctional facility near Bremen, penned the letter to the Ministry of Justice.
Madeleine, three, vanished from her parents’ holiday apartment at the Ocean Club complex in Praia da Luz in 2007 as her parents were having dinner at a nearby restaurant.
It sparked a worldwide hunt for the child and Kate and Jerry McCann have refused to give up hope of finding their daughter.
Her whereabouts remain unknown, despite her disappearance being the most heavily reported missing person case ever.
In the rambling note, suspect Brueckner said he was too scared to leave his cell over fears he would be attacked by other prisoners.
“In the beginning, the fellow prisoners held back because they knew who I was, but had too little information about it,” he wrote.
But after a TV documentary was aired he claims that he suffered “insults and death threats”.
“I am forcibly self-isolating, since there is a high probability of a physical attack by fellow inmates,” he moaned.
German newspaper Der Spiegel said he compared his long days in his eight sq metre cell to “torture”.
Brueckner, who denies any involvement in Madeleine’s disappearance, refused to work in the prison factory over fears he would be attacked.
“Should any of the inmates, due to ignorance or for whatever reason, think that they want to seriously injure me physically or even kill me, the locksmith’s shop is the ideal place for this,” he wrote.
“Tools are lying around everywhere and it is possible a sharp blade can be found in a few seconds.
“The repellent behavior of the prisoners working there was so threatening for me that I asked for the termination of my employment.”
Brueckner also complained about the poor state of the pens provided to inmates at the high-security jail.
German cops believe Brueckner abducted and killed Madeleine, who vanished from her parents’ Algarve holiday apartment in May 2007.
He is currently serving a seven-year prison term for raping a 72-year-old woman in Portugal in 2005.
