Madeleine McCann's parents said they "await a breakthrough" in the investigation into finding their daughter.
Today marks the 16th anniversary of Madeleine's disappearance in 2007. She was three-years-old when she disappeared from her bed in a holiday apartment in Praia da Luz, Portugal.
Despite widespread searches and numerous updated appeals, the then three-year-old has never been found. Despite the lack of success, British and Portuguese authorities are still investigating the disappearance.

Writing on the ‘Official Find Madeleine Campaign’ Facebook page, Kate, from Huyton, and Gerry McCann said it was "hard to find the words" to describe how they feel.
They said: "Still missing…….still very much missed. It is hard to find the words to convey how we feel." The couple also shared a poem by Clare Pollard as they it resonated "strongly" with them.
Kate and Gerry ended the statement with a thank you for support. They said: "The police investigation continues, and we await a breakthrough. Thank you to everyone for your support - it really helps."
German paedophile Christian Brueckner, who was living in a farmhouse close to Praia da Luz in 2007, has been named as the prime suspect. But the 45-year-old, who is serving a jail term in his home country for raping a pensioner in Praia da Luz, denies any involvement.
