‘Madden’ sim has Cardinals losing 27-14 to Rams with Cooper Kupp having big game

In a simulation of the matchup on “Madden NFL 24,” the jumped out to a 17-0 lead and finished with a 27-17 win.

Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford had two touchdown passes and receivers Cooper Kupp and Tutu Atwell had big games. Kupp had nine catches for 115 yards, while Atwell had seven catches for 94 yards.

For the Cardinals, receiver Hollywood Brown was the bright spot. He had touchdown catches of 59 and 48 yards, and he finished with five catches for 162 yards and the two scores.

Josh Dobbs threw an interception on the very first series of the game and Stafford’s first touchdown pass of the game went to tight end Tyler Higbee.

The Cardinals punted on their next possession and the Rams added a 29-yard field goal. Zaven Collins sacked Stafford on third-and-goal.

Arizona punted again and the Rams scored for the third straight time on a Zach Evans three-yard touchdown run to make it 17-0.

That is when Dobbs connected with Brown for a 59-yard touchdown pass. After the Rams punted for the first time, Dobbs found Brown for a 48-yard touchdown pass, making it 17-14 before halftime.

The Cardinals would not score in the second half. Stafford threw a 10-yard touchdown pass to running back Kyren Williams and then they added a 36-yard field goal. The Cardinals either punted or turned the ball over on downs on the rest of their possessions.

Stafford completed 23-of-33 passes for 276 yards and two touchdowns. He was sacked twice (1.5 by Collins, a half sack by Krys Barnes).

Dobbs completed only 12-of-20 passes but had 220 yards, two touchdowns and a pick.

Kyren Williams had 71 yards on 18 carries for the Rams, while the Cardinals’ leading rusher without James Conner was Keaontay Ingram, who had 28 yards on 14 carries.
