Machine Gun Kelly is set to star in new drama opposite Robert De Niro

Colson Baker, otherwise known as Machine Gun Kelly, is set to star opposite Hollywood greats Robert De Niro and John Malkovich in the upcoming drama film Wash Me In The River.

Wash Me In The River will be the second movie directed by Randall Emmett, whose first directorial production, Midnight in the Switchgrass, also features Baker in a leading role across from his real-life girlfriend, Megan Fox.

Production for Wash Me In The River is due to begin on November 9 and it will be filmed in both Georgia and Puerto Rico according to Deadline.

The action-thriller focuses on “a recovering opioid addict who seeks revenge on the dealers responsible for selling the drugs that resulted in his fiance’s death. Two cops are hot on his trail.”

Emmett spoke with Deadline about what it was like landing De Niro for the role and said, “I couldn’t be more excited to work with Bob again after many collaborations, including The Irishman as a producer.”

The longtime producer and rookie director continued, “I’m so grateful that he is supporting me as a filmmaker now. Colson was always my first choice to play the lead in the movie and John has been an icon of mine since childhood. Having them both attached with Bob is a dream come true.”

While Baker is mostly known for his music career as Machine Gun Kelly, he does, in fact, have multiple acting credits to his name. However, at the moment he's mostly appeared in minor roles in films including Bird Box and friend Pete Davidson’s The King of Staten Island
