‘Machete gang’ burst into Sevenoaks home and made off with mobile phones and cash

A man suspected of bursting into a home in a leafy, private road armed with a machete has been charged following a violent burglary.

One resident was cut in his face and hands after a number of suspects armed with knives forced their way into a property in St James’s Road, Sevenoaks on the evening of August 28.

Kent Police said the gang were reported to have stolen cash and several mobile phones in their raid.

Kailum Dennis, 24, of Lyham Road, Brixton, was arrested on Wednesday and charged with aggravated burglary, causing grievous bodily harm with intent, possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause unlawful violence and possession of a machete.

He appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Friday 2 September and was remanded in custody.

His next hearing will be at Maidstone Crown Court on a date to be confirmed.
