Macaulay Langstaff named in provisional England C squad following excellent Notts County season

Macaulay Langstaff's fine form for Notts County this season has been rewarded as the striker was provisionally named in the England C squad for their upcoming fixture with Wales later this month.

The game will take place at Altrincham's J.Davidson Stadium on Tuesday March 21, just four days before the Magpies welcome Scunthorpe United to Meadow Lane in the National League.

Paul Fairclough will confirm the final 16-man squad following next week's league fixtures, with Luke Williams' side taking on Dorking Wanderers in the late kick-off next Saturday.

Each of the clubs in the National League have one player named in the initial 25-man selection, with Wrexham's Sam Dalby and Woking's James Daly also named in the provisional squad.

The England squad is made up of the best players in non-league, with Langstaff's 33 goals this season recognised as he continues to run away with the Golden Boot in the fifth tier.

A number of current and former Notts players have been named in the squad in recent seasons, with Richard Brindley and Matty Palmer named in the side that lost 4-0 to Wales last year along with former Magpies man Cal Roberts.
