Osceola Magic G League guard Mac McClung successfully defended his Slam Dunk Contest title with an iconic final round dunk over Shaquille O’Neal.
On his final dunk of the night, McClung brought out Shaq and donned him with a personalized Gate City High School jersey with McClung’s name on the back. Gate City is McClung’s alma mater in southwest Virginia.
After Shaq put on the jersey, McClung positioned him underneath the basket, and dunked over the Hall of Fame center for a perfect score of 50 across the board. McClung needed a 49.1 to win the dunk contest over Boston Celtics star wing Jaylen Brown.

Time will tell if McClung will return to the contest next year to try to three-peat. McClung told TNT’s Allie LaForce that he would have to think about it but “never say never.”
McClung’s title concluded an All-Star Saturday night that included a skills competition win from hometown Indiana Pacers stars Tyrese Haliburton, Benedict Mathurin and Myles Turner; a three-point contest title for Milwaukee Bucks star Damian Lillard; and a head-to-head three-point contest win for Golden State Warriors sharpshooter Steph Curry over New York Liberty star Sabrina Ionescu.
