A section of the M9 motorway at Grangemouth is going to be closed at certain times because of a £230,000 resurface upgrade of the hard shoulder at Burghmuir in West Lothian.
It means the southbound carriageway between J5 Cadgers Brae and J1A Kirkliston will be shut from 7:30pm until 6am for four nights from Monday April 11.
A diversion route for southbound traffic will be signposted from M9 Junction 5 to Junction 1A, via the A905, A904, A993, A904 and M90, adding an estimated 16 minutes and 4.6 miles to affected journeys.
Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: "These surfacing improvements will improve safety for motorists on this section of the M9.
"It is essential that we close the carriageway during the works, however we’ve planned them to take place overnight to minimise disruption."
