Traffic has ground to a halt on the M8 amid reports of a pedestrian on the motorway.
The incident is currently ongoing at Harthill services in North Lanarkshire near to Junction 4A (Heartlands).
Traffic Scotland has issued an alert to drivers this afternoon warning them that all lanes are restricted on the M8 in the eastbound and westbound directions.

They tweeted: "M8 Harthill Services - J4a Heartlands - hazard, All lanes restricted in both directions."
Police Scotland have been contacted for comment.
