A slip road off the M6 near Salford will remain closed tonight and tomorrow after a vehicle overturned and spilled its load. Police were called out to the northbound exit slip road at junction 21, for Irlam and Warrington, before 7.40am today (February 15).
It followed a crash on the slip road, which led to the vehicle flipping onto its side. The slip road has remained closed throughout the day while a clean-up takes place on the road.
Emergency barrier repairs are also taking place following the collision. Drivers are being warned to expect disruption tomorrow, with the slip road expected to remain closed throughout Thursday.
In an update shared shortly before 9pm, a spokesperson for National Highways North West wrote on Twitter: "The M6 north J21 exit slip road remains closed following an incident involving an overturned vehicle. Extensive clean up works are still ongoing.
"Once complete, the barrier will be repaired and resurfacing will be carried out. The closure is expected to be on through tomorrow."
