Four of Merseyside's motorways will be closed with delays expected over the next week.
Sections of the M6, M53, M56 and M57 will be closed this week for essential roadworks and National Highways has told drivers to expect delays. It comes after four days of no roadworks on the regions motorways due to the bank holiday weekend.
This week (April 18 - April 24) there are no scheduled motorway works on Monday, April 18 and on Sunday, April 24.

Here's a list of all the motorway closures you can expect this week:
Monday, April 18
No closures
Tuesday, April 19
The M6 northbound between junctions 22 (Winwick Interchange) and 23 (Haydock Island) will be closed between 9pm and 6am.
The M6 southbound between junctions 21 (Woolston Interchange) and 22 (Winwick Interchange) will be closed between 9pm and 6am.
The M53 northbound between junctions one (Wallasey) and three (Moreton Spur) will be closed between 8pm and 5am.
The M56 westbound between junctions 12 (Mersey Gateway) and 15 (Stoak Interchange) will be closed between 8pm and 6am.
The M56 eastbound between junctions 15 (Stoak Interchange) and 12 (Mersey Gateway) will be closed between 8pm and 6am.
The M57 northbound between junctions six (Kirkby Interchange) and seven (Switch Island) will be closed all day for barrier repairs.
The M57 northbound between junctions one (Tarbock Interchange) and three (Huyton Spur Interchange) between 9pm and 5am for litter clearance.
Wednesday, April 20
The M6 southbound between junctions 21 (Woolston Interchange) and 22 (Winwick Interchange) will be closed between 9pm and 6am.
The M53 northbound between junctions one (Wallasey) and three (Moreton Spur) will be closed between 8pm and 5am.
The M57 northbound between junctions six (Kirkby Interchange) and seven (Switch Island) will be closed all day for barrier repairs.
Thursday, April 21
The M6 southbound between junctions 21 (Woolston Interchange) and 22 (Winwick Interchange) will be closed between 9pm and 6am.
The M57 northbound between junctions six (Kirkby Interchange) and seven (Switch Island) will be closed all day for barrier repairs.

The M53 northbound between junctions five (Hooton Interchange) and four (Clatterbridge Interchange) will be closed between 9pm and 5am.
