There have been miles of traffic on the M6 this morning after a two vehicle crash.
Emergency services were called to the crash, on the M6 southbound at junction 24 A58 Liverpool Road, after a crash between a lorry and a car.
The incident, which happened just after 6am on Tuesday, January 18, caused up to four miles of traffic stretching to junction 26 (the Orrell interchange).

Traffic officers attended the scene and put two lane closures in place. It was reported that one of the vehicles was facing the opposite way in a lane after the crash.
Travel time was around 30 minutes higher than average journey time.
A spokesperson for National Highways said: "Lanes 1 and 2 are closed on the #M6 southbound between J24 (#Ashton) and J23 (#HaydockIsland) due to a collision.
"Traffic Officers are in attendance and recovery are en route. There 2.8 miles of congestion on approach so please allow extra journey time."
In an update, National Highways said that all lanes have reopened.
Most recently there was 3.4 miles of traffic with congestion back up junction 26.
