M5 van driver had 'no hands on wheel' as he ate his lunch on motorway

A van driver on the M5 was pulled over by police after he was seen weaving across the motorway, as he ate his lunch while driving. The motorist was pulled over near Tiverton in Devon, and a picture of the vehicle was posted on the Twitter account of Devon and Cornwall Police Roads Policing.

The tweet was captioned: "The driver of this van was seen weaving on the motorway. He was eating his lunch with both hands and not holding the steering wheel.

"He already has 6 points. This is at least another 3. Is it worth it?"

The driver could be prosecuted for driving without due care and attention and may be banned from the road if he receives another six points to reach the maximum of 12, reports Devon Live. It is not known what the driver was eating.

People on Twitter were quick to react to the incident. One user, Trevor2910, wrote: "Not the right kind of meals on wheels."
