This shocking picture shows the aftermath of a horror collision that happened on a busy Dublin motorway yesterday evening.
One person was rushed to hospital following the rollover crash on the M1 near the service centre at Balbriggan at around 6:15pm.
The crash resulted in the motorway being blocked by the safety barrier.
The scene was closed with diversions in place for nearly half an hour leading to traffic chaos on the road, as firefighters worked with the TII Traffic crew to clear the road.
A separate crash at the Dublin Airport roundabout just minutes earlier also contributed to the massive jams.
Pictures shared by the Dublin Fire Brigade show a crumpled up wreck of a car on its roof with debris strewn around it.
A Dublin Fire Brigade spokesperson said: "Yesterday evening, Firefighter/Paramedics from Swords and Phibsborough attended a roll-over RTC on the M1 at the service centre near Balbriggan.
"Firefighters worked with TII Traffic crews to clear the motorway which was blocked by the safety barrier. One to hospital by the NAS."
