Nottingham Forest and fans were advised to approach the part of the M1 southbound with 'caution' after a crash early on Sunday morning.
Reds supporters are making their way to Wembley for the play-off final against Huddersfield Town (4.30pm) for their first trip to the national stadium for 30 years. Many will be travelling by car and will take the M1 but two of three lanes were closed between Junction 23 for Loughborough and Junction 22 for Markfield because of a crash involving a car and lorry.
The car was unable to be moved and a recovery vehicle was en route. Huddersfield fans travelling by car will also be taking the M1 ahead of kick-off later this afternoon but the motorway is now fully operational.
