Shoppers looking to treat themselves while sticking to a budget have been so blown away by an M&S meal they say is better than a takeaway.
With the cost of living forcing many households to count literally every penny, indulging in a weekly Chinese takeaway might not be as affordable as it used to be. But it looks like you don't have to miss out on your weekly treat as you can pick one up from the shops that is just as good.
The Mirror reports that Marks and Spencer has launched the Chinese Takeaway Year of the Rabbit box for two to celebrate the Chinese New Year that is priced at just £11, which works out to £5.50 per portion.
Each box contains a range of popular dishes that you would order from your local takeaway including chicken and black bean sauce, crispy sweet and sour chicken, Singapore noodles, egg fried rice, and vegetable spring rolls.
M&S shared its new budget Chinese Takeaway for two meal to its Instagram with a reel captioned: "'Get ready for the Lunar New Year with our Year of the Rabbit box!"
Fans quickly flocked to the comments section leave glowing reviews of the meal that they say has replaced their usual takeaway order.
"These are the best prefer them over a takeaway", raved one shopper.
"No need to get a takeaway now", said a second.
"Will definitely be trying this", replied a third.
"Looks lovely", agreed a fourth.
