With just a little more than a week to go, the smell of Christmas is in the air. No, we don’t mean the scent of gluhwein and bratwurst wafting in from Christmas food markets. We’re talking about Christmas food and drink hampers and, of course, M&S’s staple light-up gin liqueur.
The beloved seasonal offering has become a Christmas dinner centrepiece in recent years, and it returned with a twist for 2023. Now in a marmalade flavour, it comes in a wonderfully festive light-up glass bottle. But those who prefer a different spirit aren’t going to be left behind this year, either.
For the first time, M&S has launched two new additional light-up liqueurs. Flavoured, as always, there’s a very berry vodka liqueur or a stollen rum liqueur – perfect for cocktails or drinking on the rocks.
The British high-street stalwart’s light-up liqueur proves popular every year, making it an ideal choice for the lead-up to Christmas and for festive cocktail parties. Here’s how you can get your hands on the seasonal tipples – either individually or as a whole case. Delivering some festive cheer, the bottles are even on sale with up to 30 per cent off.

M&S light-up marmalade gin liqueur, 50cl: Was £15, now £13, Ocado.com
First on the menu is M&S’s classic gin liqueur. Every year, there’s a new flavour, and this year it’s marmalade. Infused with citrusy flavours, this gin liqueur is “delicious sipped over ice or topped up with tonic water”, according to M&S.
M&S light-up very berry vodka liqueur, 50cl: Was £15, now £13, Ocado.com
New for the 2023 festive season is a light-up vodka liqueur. It looks as delightfully pretty as its gin counterpart. The vodka liqueur is infused with M&S’s very berry jam, which is made from cherry, cranberry, raspberry and a touch of ground cinnamon. M&S says this fruity vodka liqueur is best enjoyed chilled or when added to prosecco for a festive cocktail.
M&S light-up stollen rum liqueur, 50cl: Was £15, now £13, Ocado.com
Lastly, we have a rum liqueur, for those out there who prefer a drink with a bit of a kick. The new light-up spiced liqueur is infused with classic flavours of raisins and orange peel, associated with the fruit bread stollen. To make a traditional stollen old-fashioned, M&S recommends filling a tumbler with ice and then adding equal measures of stollen rum liqueur, distilled XO brandy and a splash of clementine juice. Delicious!
