Marks and Spencer has released the 2022 festive food advert featuring comedy duo Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders as Fairy and Duckie.
Christmas fans can get into the festive spirit with the clip which features a fairy and dog toy coming to life to explore the delicious food M&S has on offer this year.
The new food advert, starring iconic comedy duo French and Saunders, will air for the first time on TV during ITV's This Morning at 11.40am on Wednesday, November 2.
Dawn, who plays Fairy, starts off perched on top of the Christmas tree when she suddenly comes to life and looks for a festive pal straight away. After searching the tree to no avail, she finds exactly what she's looking for in Duckie - played by Jennifer - a dog's chew toy who looks a little worse for wear.
Fairy uses her magic to bring Duckie to life and they get to talking, but soon after, the family dog arrives in the room.
As reported by the Mirror, the cute pooch is played by a dog named Wylie.
Duckie has to make a quick escape and Fairy helps out by granting the chew toy the ability to fly. Once they're out of the excitable pup's reach, Duckie complains that she is "falling apart".
Thankfully, Fairy has the perfect solution, telling Duckie: "Looks like we need to fill you with some festive cheer." The result happens to be a table filled with Christmas treats.
After seeing all of the festive food, Duckie exclaims: "Now that's something to sink your beak into!"
The pair then delight over all the tasty meals, treats and even some of the festive spirits that M&S have on offer. And, of course, the ad wraps up with the iconic line: "This is not just food, this is M&S Christmas food."
Speaking about the ad, Dawn said: "I had the time of my life lending my voice to the Fairy that brought Percy Pig to life last year.
"I was so excited that M&S wanted to bring her back for more adventures and discover more of that AMAZING food… and, this time with a trusty new sidekick!"
Jennifer said: "When the call came in asking me to be in the M&S Christmas ad, I didn’t have to think about it.
"And to bring the team back together for it? It was a Christmas MUST."
Sharry Cramond, director of marketing and hospitality, M&S Food, said: "This Christmas we know families want a cosy but special get together at home.
"Our ad brings to life what we have to offer – the perfect menu to deliver that warm, fuzzy, festive feeling.
"We know value is front of mind for families and our food range is about offering the best possible quality at the best possible price – from essentials to showstoppers – alongside that all-important dose of M&S Christmas magic."
This isn't the last you'll be seeing of Fairy and Duckie either, as they are set to star in seven more adverts over the festive period, concluding with a New Year’' Eve special.
