Card machines at the M&S Bank Arena experienced mass failure in the middle of the Have A Word podcast live show on Friday night.
People attending the live show were unable to make purchases for around one hour due to problems with the Arena's card services provider.
One guest, Ian James, said: "M&S Bank Arena is a joke, every till says contactless only, every screen says contactless only. Wait over 30 mins to be told Cash Only. No signs anywhere, no announcements. Poorly ran."

A M&S Bank Arena spokesman said: "We can confirm that we experienced issues with our card machines last night at the arena. This was due to a worldwide issue with our card services provider Freedom Pay and therefore completely beyond our control. The issue was resolved within an hour and where possible we ensured people had drinks with which to enjoy the show."
The Have A Word show, with comedians Adam Rowe and Dan Nightingale, was a sold-out event, attracting fans from all over.
Following the show, Dan posted to Twitter: "A huge thank you to the boys, all the performers, all the people behind the scenes, my friends and family, to Laura (who actually made it onto the stage!) and all the thousands of lids. Friday was truly epic, you were all incredible."
